Wilderness Wildlife Northern Lights Mountains Lakes Rivers

About Us

Growing up in Germany, we had limited exposure to the real wild outdoors. But at a young age my father took me out of school and brought me along on his journeys through the jungles of Malaysia and to the wild places of North America. It became clear to me very quickly that British Columbia was where I wanted to live, and making my living in the wilderness was what I wanted to do.

I finished my schooling and apprenticeship in Germany and in 1987, at the age of 19, I and my then girlfriend Manuela made the move to Canada and never looked back. Now with our two boys, Rene and Christian, we run a very successful tourism operation that spans over 940,000 acres in Northern British Columbia.

Both our boys have been accompanying us on our adventures since they were born. They could cast a line, shoot a bow and gun, build and cook over a fire, clean a grouse or fish for dinner before they started school.

Our dogs are also a big part of our family! Although they are great pets and family members they are bred and trained to point out game and alert us about unwanted visitors. We pride ourselves by operating on the land ethically and lawfully. We have great  respect for the native people in the area, the wild creatures big and small and the land we are so lucky to walk upon.

This is our way of life! It is a commitment that goes beyond getting a job done or running a business. It comes with a sense of pride and humble appreciation.

Someone said “Find a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life”. So we did!

Sincerely,

The Schneider family
